How to add a topic to a conversation

Click on a conversation in your inbox. Under Topics, in the right-hand column, click the plus icon.

Select if you'd like to add a private and/or public Topic.

To use an existing Topic, chose All, Public or Private, then click on a Topic from the list. You can also use search to find a specific Topic.

To create a new Topic, click New Topic. In the name field, type the name of your Topic. This should be a very short label you’ll use to categorize multiple conversations.

It’s optional to add a description and keywords to your Topic. Keywords assist Aptly in automatically assigning Topics to conversations with those words. 

Click Create. Then select the Topic you created to assign it to the conversation.

To delete a Topic from your conversation, hover over the Topic and click X

How to view conversations by Topic

You can easily view conversations by Topic by adding them to your Inbox Views. To add a Topic to your inbox views, click More.

Then click Add Topics. Select which Topics you’d like to filter conversations by. Then click anywhere out of the box to exit. 

To view the conversations by Topic, click the Topic view you created in your Inbox Views. Your inbox will show all the conversations you’ve added that Topic to.

You can also search for conversations by Topic. Click the drop down arrow on the search bar. Under Topic, click the drop down and select the Topic. Then click search.

How to manage your Topics

To manage your Private Topics, click your avatar in the bottom left corner. Then click My Profile. In the left panel click My Topics.

Here, you can edit, add, and delete Private Topics. 

  • To edit a Topic, click the edit icon.
  • To add a Topic, click Add Topic.
  • To delete a Topic, click the trash icon. Be careful, deleting a Topic will remove it from all your conversations.

To manage your Public Topics, click the settings icon the bottom left corner. In the left panel click Shared Topics.

Here, you can edit, add, and delete Public Topics.

  • To edit a Topic, click the edit icon.
  • To add a Topic, click New Topic.
  • To delete a Topic, click the edit icon. Then click Delete. Be careful, deleting a Topic will remove it from all your conversations.
