Aptly’s Buildium integration supports the importing of properties, units, and

prospects and residents.

After your initial import, Aptly will be enriched with resident and location data you can use to easily access important details about these records without leaving Aptly. Additionally, this data can be used to manage a variety of processes in Aptly, like leasing, lease renewals, and move-outs.

How to integrate Aptly with Buildium

This involves exporting 2 reports from your Buildium Reports page per the specifications detailed below.

Export your Current Tenants report in Buildium

  1. Navigate to Buildium and click Reports.
  2. Under Rentals, click Current Tenants.
  3. Select All Rentals, then click Run Report.
  4. Click Show/hide columns.
  5. Select Mailing Address, Moved In, Name and Unit. Then click Save.
  6. Click the download button and select CSV.

Export your Vacant Units report in Buildium

  1. Click Reports again. Under Rentals, click Vacant Units.
  2. Select All Rentals, then click Run Report.
  3. Click Show/hide columns.
  4. Select all options. Then click Save.
  5. Click the download button and select CSV.

Importing Your Reports into Aptly

  1. Navigate to Aptly and go to the Locations page.
  2. Click the settings icon ⚙️ on the top right.
  3. Click on Integrations, then click on Buildium.
  4. Select your format (Single-Family or Multi-Family) from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click Import Tenant Directory to upload the CSV file of your current tenants from Buildium.
  6. Click Import Unit Vacancy under the same format to upload the CSV file of your vacant units from Buildium.

Once you’ve successfully integrated Buildium, tenant and property data will sync to your Aptly Contacts and Locations. You’ll need to repeat this process each time data changes in your property management software to keep Aptly up-to-date. We highly recommend you update Aptly at a cadence of at least once every 24 hours.

Update your notification settings in Buildium

Notifications are the key to keeping your Buildium data in sync with Aptly. As such we will want to ensure your alerts are enabled.
