Aptly’s Yardi integration supports the importing of properties, units, prospects and residents.

After your initial import, Aptly will be enriched with resident and location data you can use to easily access important details about these records without leaving Aptly. Additionally, this data can be used to manage a variety of processes in Aptly, like leasing, lease renewals, and move-outs.

In this article you'll learn:

Exporting and Scheduling Data from Yardi

Our data importer is configured to interpret and load the Resident Directory and Unit Directory reports but you must configure the reports to a standard format so the data is loaded into your account correctly.

  1. Do not hide any of the columns on your reports. All data must show.
  2. Make sure the word "Resident" is in the subject line of the Resident Directory report and the word "Unit" is in the subject line of the Unit Directory report.
  3. Reports should be configured to export as .XLSX files.
  4. Set the scheduled report cadence to run at minimum once every 24 hours.
  1. Go to the Locations page.
  2. Click the settings wheel ⚙️ in the upper right corner.
  3. Click Integrations.
  4. Click Yardi.
  5. Toggle the switch to enable the integration.
  6. Copy the unique email address in the Schedule Reports section.

7. Configure your Resident Directory and Unit Directory reports in Yardi to the specs above.

8. Set reports to send to the unique email address on your clipboard at least once every 24 hours.

Manually Uploading Yardi Reports

You can also manually upload the Resident Directory and Unit Directory reports into Aptly as opposed to setting them up on a scheduled cadence. This might be a good solution if you'd like to test the importer against the report format or have more control around your data import.

  1. Configure the reports according to the Report Specifications above using steps 1 - 3 as guidance.
  2. Locations >> Settings >> Integrations >> Yardi settings under the Manual Import section and upload the reports individually.
  3. You will get a green banner in the top-left corner of your page indicating the report import was successful and data import has initiated.
